Quincy Hotel by Far East Hospitality, Singapore

“Okay Ms. Kismadi, your room will be on 701 while Mr. Pawiro will be on room 604. Nadia will assist you to your room, while I will assist Mr. Pawiro. But before we move to your room, let me tell you the benefits of staying at the qool room of Quincy Hotel.”

And then she showed us this…

“Whoa!” I said too quickly after reading the first line. Free mini bar? Are you frikkin’ kidding me?

Whenever and wherever I stay in a hotel, they NEVER give a FREE access to the mini bar. You should pay at least thrice the original price if you want to eat or drink from the mini bar. But Quincy Hotel Singapore knows that guests won’t use the mini bar because it’s too expensive, and everything will be wasted. So why charge them? Just give it to the guests for free!

The mini bar that are free to be consumed and will be replenished everyday
It includes these too!
I have to re-assure myself and read the writing on the paper once again to make sure that I didn’t misheard what Sidney (the guest assistant who explained the benefits to us) said just a few seconds ago. But I heard and I read it right. Guests of Quincy Hotel Singapore can enjoy the mini bar for free during their stay and it will be replenished every day. Say whaaattt??!!

But that’s not all, Ladies and Gentleman. That’s not the only free thing that made me fell in love with Quincy Hotel Singapore straight away. The guests can also enjoy food and drinks for free at the hotel’s restaurant / lobby from 6.45am to 8.30pm. So after they serve the breakfast until 10.30am, they will provide refreshments from 12pm to 8.30pm. And from 6pm to 8.30pm, you can also enjoy your evening cocktail time, including wines!

Want some salad? ;)
The breakfast's hot dish. It's very limited but hey, if they provide the best out of the best, why do you ask for more? The more is not always the better, right? ;)
My breakfast that morning :)
Juices, drinks, sodas - refreshments!
Free flow ice cream yay!!

How can you not love Quincy Hotel, right?

But again, that’s not all! You know how expensive bottled water in Singapore, right? I mean, let’s compare it to Indonesia 1 bottled water in Singapore equals to 3 bottled water in Indonesia. It’s expensive to buy bottled water in Singapore – and even though you can drink tap water in Singapore, but you’d prefer drinking the bottled mineral water, right?

But in Quincy Hotel, you can grab bottled water as many as you want because they provide it for free! Aside from the two bottles that’s provided already in your room, you can also grab it by the pool on the 12th floor or from 12pm-8.30pm at the restaurant. So qool, right?

Grab those free bottled water! ;)
The pool on the 12th floor with a pretty view beside it..
The gym next to the pool - they have sauna too!

Do you think that would be all that Quincy Hotel Singapore can give you? Hold on, because you haven’t seen the room…

The room was HUGE! No, not the size of the room – yeah, I mean the room was 32 square meters and it’s big – but what made a difference was the height of the room. I really thought that the ceiling is higher than any other hotel and it makes the room looks even bigger and very spacious!

My WOW-ness didn’t end there. It continued when I explored the room in details and found that all aspects in the room are very well thought. It got me really excited because it seemed like Quincy Hotel didn’t give me a pause to not fall in love even more with the hotel, the service and the facilities.

The room has a big 42” LCD TV with so many channels to choose from, a long working table complete with a working lamp, magazines for you to read on, a Nespresso machine, a regular coffee maker, two fancy glasses (I guessed it's for wine), snacks (yes you can eat this for free as well), a music/radio player/speaker, a mini “sofa” by the window for a lookout to the street, an ironing desk hidden behind the wall, a “cupboard” hidden behind the sliding door of the bathroom, a free laundry for two pieces of clothes (yes, you read that right, the laundry is FREE!), and the bathroom… Oh, the bathroom that I extremely loved…

Look! You can see through the bedroom from the bathroom shower because it’s only separated by a transparent glass! Haha! So if you stay there with your partner and want to have a sexier time, you can keep the glass separator as it is. But if you need more privacy, of course you can pull down the curtain and it will “change” into a regular bathroom, lol. :))

And now we come to the part of the bathroom that drives me crazy these past few days since I stayed at Quincy. The toiletries. Oh. My. Goodness.

Quincy Hotel uses toiletries (bath soap, liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion) from Molton Brown… and it’s extremely fragrant (the liquid bath soap especially)! I’ve been looking for it ever since, but too bad they neither have stores in Singapore nor Indonesia. So, if you happened to know where to find them, please please please let me know, okay? ;(

You see, it is correct that accommodation in Singapore is pretty expensive (e.g.: you can pay USD 100 for just a so-so room). Quincy Hotel is too. BUT… If you look at the benefits they give you (and the very strategic location too!), staying at Quincy Hotel IS NOT expensive at all. If I have to pay 300SGD++ per night to stay at Quincy, I’d pay for it.

Quincy, Quincy, Quincy.. It’s not only a qool business boutique hotel. It’s quirky, it’s flirty, it’s edgy, it’s Quincy, and it’s worth every penny.

Another Far East Hospitality property review: Village Hotel Katong

This post is a series post for my and Timothy’s trip to The Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

Far East Hospitality Singapore is one of our partners during this wonderful trip.

I was a guest of The Quincy Hotel Singapore and all opinions are my own.

  1. I love hotels, and I love beautiful hotel gardens and environments, especially those that reference the wonderful hotels and gardens of Provence and the Italian countryside: the fountains, the citrus trees in terra cotta planters, and the casual formality of the environments. I am always looking for ways to bring a bit of that magic into my own garden. Well, I recently found an incredible store and online presence: Authentic Provence (http://authenticprovence.com) in West Palm Beach. The finest collection of European garden antiques I have seen in the US: statues, fountains, planters (note especially the classic Caisse de Versailles in every color, and Anduze pottery), terra cotta shields, stone animals, copper pots, garden spouts, etc. They also have beautiful stone fireplaces, re-purposed tiles, and many other specialty items. I felt transported to a unique environment reminiscent of the wonderful hotels and gardens of Europe.
